"Welcome back to the Afterlife, Ki. Let's get you to the Evergate, and back to Earth"

When a lost soul named "Ki" awakens in the afterlife, her path back to earth is blocked by the ‘Evergate’. To return home, Ki must decipher her mysterious connection to kindred spirit as she navigates through memories of a time once past.
Navigate through each new memory via 85 challenging stages. Harness the ‘Soulflame’ mechanic, unlock new abilities and find your own creative ways to reach each end gate.

This ancient power of the Afterlife allows Ki to slow down time, take aim and fire a beam of energy at white surfaces known as "The Source".

Use your Soulflame to smash through the mysterious crystals scattered throughout each memory. Unleash their power to soar to new heights, reach the unreachable and safely navigate perilous environments. Hit multiple crystals at once to combined their energies and find new creative ways to reach the end gate.

Rise to the challenge and collect "Essences" by reaching all the areas within each memory. Use them to unlock ancient artefacts and boost Ki's attributes. Move faster, jump higher and harness even greater powers!

Gorgeous hand-drawn visuals and an elegantly orchestrated soundtrack - recorded by a live orchestra - immerse players in the Afterlife and bring dreams, nightmares and spirits alive in stunning detail.

Really wish I could play this game -- looks beautiful but the tutorial is buggy and I can't get past the first circle with the sigil stones. :( Anyone have any fixes?

Awesome game so far!!!!

Love the mechanics :)

Hi. How about GNU+Linux support via Proton?

Hi! Ever will bring this to MacOs?

Fantastic game with interesting mechanics. I really liked the system of artifacts allowing you to very well modulate difficulty. I also liked the 3 various extra challenges (I did them all) which gave fun experiences. I would offer a few pieces of suggestions should you ever make a game like this again.

1. The precision aim really could have used a better tutorial or some reminder later down. I never even used it straight at the beginning since it wasn't necessary and completely forgot it existed until I reached a very late level that couldn't be beaten without it and had quite a few frustrations wondering why 360 degree aim didn't exist.

2.While the puzzles are good they require quite a few steps, this becomes a problem for some of them where the puzzle is actually not the early parts, they are simply, but a later one that can be quite difficult, this involves a too tedious process of resetting the puzzle for every try so maybe keep that in mind.

3. While I appreciate the cinematic/story effect of the expanding orange circles they essentially work as a timer on each puzzle and that causes problems for accessibility. This is especially true for the puzzle game genre which is supposed to be accessible. On some of these the timings were quite tight. Maybe an artifact that adjusted that would have been a good idea or something in the settings.

Looks wonderful! But I can't rebind wasd in the controls. :(

Hello! Make sure there are no unconventional peripherals attached to your computer. This would be like foot pedals or nonstandard controllers.  We've seen those confuse the input manager before.

No, I meant you hardcoded WASD for movement and that's unplayable...

Looks amazing! :3

I'm having problems with the audio; it stutters about half the time

Any fixes?

hello! Are there any peripherals attached to your PC?

There are none other than my mouse and headphones.

After the first 30-ish minutes of gameplay, the issue (mostly) seemed to fix itself.

Happy to hear that, and we'll look into the issue, thank you for letting us know.

Look very nice. :)

Thank You

Hi I have installed Evergate an attempting to run it for the first time and on that first loading screen you see upon launch for me it just gets stuck on 99% is there anything I can do to move forward from this to play?

I only have one thing on my mind. If you haven't tried that already, install the game outside program files folder...

I extracted the files into a folder on my C drives download folder with the same name as the game an ran the application from there. Shouldn't that work? it worked with every other application I done that process with.. it isn't this time.

You mean you copy-pasted in another folder ? It is possible it doesn't work because of registry keys, either reinstall or try to adjust registry keys, just search for Evergate, I think there are 2 keys  in registry which you need to adjust...

EDIT: Nope, it has nothing with registry keys, game should run from any folder as I can see

EDIT2: Do you have anything here "C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\LocalLow\StoneLantern\Evergate" ?

Theres 2 Text Documents in the "C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\LocalLow\StoneLantern\Evergate" one called "Player" an the other is called "Player-prev"

You can disable your Antivirus program to see does that help, or exclude whole game folder from AV, who knows.

You can check those player .log files,  and check is your graphic card listed in the log under 6 and I guess that 11 and 12 are also "important"

  1. Initialize engine version: 2019.4.13f1 (518737b1de84)
  2. [Subsystems] Discovering subsystems at path D:/IO/evergate/steam-8-11-21/Evergate_Data/UnitySubsystems
  3. GfxDevice: creating device client; threaded=1
  4. Direct3D:
  5.     Version:  Direct3D 11.0 [level 11.1]
  6.     Renderer: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (ID=0x2489)
  7.     Vendor:
  8.     VRAM:     8050 MB
  9.     Driver:   30.0.15.1179
  10. D3D11 device created for Microsoft Media Foundation video decoding.
  11. <RI> Initializing input.
  12. <RI> Input initialized.
  13. <RI> Initialized touch support.

Also, there is "options.json" inside that folder but it will be only created once you change some game settings, but you can try adding it inside "C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\LocalLow\StoneLantern\Evergate" folder, maybe it will help you.

Go here

Evergate - Pastebin.com

Copy all text notepad and save it as options.json

Make sure that your File name extension in windows is ON otherwise you will end with options.json.txt file...

in options.json just change Resolution which fits your display and try now.

Hope it will help you otherwise I have no more ideas :(

Any chance to realese for macOS version ? This looks like Ori ;)
